Swiss forward Nicolas Baechler, who left the last game against Latvia injured, will not be able to return to action at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship due to a foot injury, it was determined following further examination.

The Swiss U20 national team filled its roster by adding defender Luca Deussen of EHC Kloten. An injury replacement was approved with forward Tim Muggli of EV Zug taking the spot of Baechler on the Swiss roster.

Switzerland, which currently leads the Group B standings in Moncton with two wins, will continue the tournament against the United States this evening.
