Bedard named MVP

Canada's Connor Bedard was named the MVP of the 2023 World Juniors after his record-smashing performance in Halifax.

The International Ice Hockey Federation has announced the winners of the individual awards and the tournament all-star team after the gold medal game of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Connor Bedard was named MVP. After winning the scoring title with 23 points and setting multiple Canadian World Junior records, the 17-year-old superstar from North Vancouver was also named Best Forward and a tournament all-star team member.

Bedard, who captured his second straight U20 gold medal, put on the most dominant offensive performance by anyone apart from Sweden’s Peter Forsberg in 1993 (31 points).
