The 2024 IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II B has issued a one game suspension to Team Iceland’s Bergthor Agustsson for violating IIHF Official Playing Rule 50.  

The second incident occurred at 34:11 in the 2nd period of Game number 9 between Serbia and Island.  

The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that, at 34:11 in the 2nd period of the game, the Player, in an attempt to make a check on his opponent, did so by leading with his knee, making significant knee-on-knee contact, and therefore violated Official Playing Rule 50 (Kneeing).   

Due to the suspension, the Player will miss today’s game between Iceland and Belgium.
