The 2024 IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II B has issued a one game suspension to Team Romania’s Akos Nyisztor for violating IIHF Official Playing Rule 49 (Kicking).

The incident occurred at 51:43 in the 3 rd period of Game number 10 between Australia and Romania.

The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that the opponent was skating into the attacking zone, making a play on the puck, while the Player was defending. As the opponent attempted to skate past the Player, he raised his right leg off the ice and kicked his leg out across the legs of the opponent causing him to fall to the ice. Therefore, the Player is deemed to have violated IIHF Official Playing Rule 49 (Kicking).

Due to the suspension, the Player will miss tomorrow’s game between Romania and Belgium.
