Candidates Confirmed for IIHF Election

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has officially confirmed the list of candidates for election to the IIHF Council and various elected positions ahead of the 2026 IIHF Semi-Annual Congress, which will take place in Tenerife, Spain on October 2, 2026.

Representatives from the IIHF's Member National Associations will gather to elect the leadership that will help guide the continued development and growth of international ice hockey over the coming years. In so doing, they will vote for a new council which is comprised of the following roles: One (1) President, One (1) Senior Vice-President, three (3) Regional Vice-Presidents and ten (10) other members. Of these 15 members, at least three must be male and at least three must be female. 

The election process reflects the IIHF's commitment to good governance, transparency, and the democratic participation of its Member National Associations. The full election and nomination process can be found here.

The following candidates have been nominated and confirmed for election:


 
The elected officials will serve a four-year term and will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the IIHF.

"We thank all candidates for their willingness to contribute to the future of our sport and look forward to a transparent and constructive election process."

All candidates have been vetted in accordance with the IIHF Statutes.
