On October 3rd, release day for the tickets to the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, superfans all over the world had no time to waste. Stockholm, Sweden reported 100 000 tickets sold and Herning, Denmark reported 60 000 sold tickets.
"We are very impressed and proud of the start we’ve had with ticket sales, and we can already confidently say that there will be a 'Hockey Party in Herning.'” says Ulrik Larsen, director of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Herning.
Following in the footsteps of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, tickets for the opening week in Herning are more or less sold out.
”The high demand for tickets is extremely joyful to us working with the arrangement as well as for all our partners, teams and fans, not to mention the Stockholmers that will experience a true ice hockey festival in May.” says Tony Wiréhn, General Secretary and CEO of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Stockholm.
The most popular games in Stockholm, due to ticket sales, are the group games between Sweden and Finland, and Sweden and Canada. The semi-finals, bronze and gold medal games are already sold out as of now. More tickets will be released though, on November 12th and December 18th.
