Sadly, it’s time for our final Power Rankings of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Or wait – make that “happily” if you’re a fan of the Americans, as they finish on top due to their 1-0 sudden-death gold medal win over Switzerland on Sunday at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena. It's a truly historic moment as America's long gold medal drought ends! The Swiss deserve full marks for a fantastic tournament, taking second place again after another heartbreaking finish. And the Swedes are third thanks to beating the gutsy Danes 6-2 in the bronze medal game. Wherever your team wound up, remember: there’s always new hope for 2025-26. See you next season and keep on smiling all summer long!
