The IIHF Directorate has set the U18 Women’s Worlds schedule for Saturday, which starts with a critical Relegation Game and then sees two semi-finals played. All games will be at Centre 200 in Sydney.
Relegation---12.00/HUN-FIN
Semi-finals 1---16.00/USA-SWE
Semi-finals 2---19.30/CAN-CZE
If these matchups look familiar, there's a reason--they're the same semi-finals pairings as last year.
The Americans have won 18 of 19 games against Sweden. The lone loss, 2-1, came in the semi-finals of the 2023 tournament.
Canada also has won nine of ten against the Czechs, that one major blemish also coming in the semi-finals, in 2024.
Finland and Hungary have played only twice, just three days apart in 2013. The Finns won both, 4-0 in the preliminary round, and 3-1 in the 5th-place game.
The semi-finals winners will play for gold on Sunday night, and the losers bronze in the afternoon.
