Fans will also choose the name of the hero

On Tuesday, 22 October, a press conference was held in the České Budějovice arena for the Women's World Championship, which will take place in the South Bohemian capital in April next year. Information about ticket sales was announced and the representatives of the championship also spoke about the hero who will accompany the tournament. "We pay a lot of attention and care to the championship. We are looking forward to getting the whole region excited and bringing in new players who will help build a great reputation for our hockey," said Petr Briza, Vice President of Czech Hockey and Senior Vice President of the IIHF.

"We don't want it to be just about hockey, but a whole event that will excite everyone," added Petr Bříza.
Both Czech Hockey and the management of the region and the city cannot praise the cooperation, which is crucial for the championship. "We are met with great friendliness here, for which I would like to thank them very much," nodded Jiří Šindler, the secretary general of the women's championship. He also released information on tickets and ticket sales, adding that there will be two categories of tickets, which will differ in terms of stadium seats and price. For the morning matches in the group stage, tickets for Category I will cost 150 CZK, and for Category II 100 CZK.

"The Czech national team will always play starting from 19:00. We believe it will be the highlight of the day. But apart from that, there will be other interesting matches, for example USA - Canada, which will be the top of the world hockey. The women's NHL will even suspend its competition for the World Championships and the best female hockey players in the world will be there. We are  being mindful about all aspects and we want every team to have professional and great facilities. Several visits from the IIHF were successfully conducted so far . We are expecting a quality tournament," shared the general manager of the women's national team Tereza Sadilova.

Tickets for the afternoon games, which will be played at 3 pm and 7 pm, will be in one package. Those with the Czech duel will cost CZK 450 and those without the Czechs CZK 100 less.

The sale starts on November 7 at noon. At the same time, voting will also take place for the name of the mascot that will accompany the spectators throughout the tournament. Three different options will be open to vote: "Alex, that's from the name Alexandra, is the protector of women's hockey. Tori, that's Victoria - victory. And finally Ava, who symbolizes speed, movement and forward direction," explained Filip Kregl, the author of the visual identity of the championship.
