Officiating
Ice Hockey is one of the fastest team sports in the world where game officials are at the heart of the actions. Every year, our national associations offer education opportunities to become a game official and to try out this exciting role. Officiating is accessible to anyone and doesn’t require much to start: basic equipment on starting level usually contain skates, a whistle, black helmet with visor and a referee or linesperson jersey. This equipment can often be provided or borrowed by the national association for free or at a small cost. Growing into their position within the national association gives the chance to several game officials to officiate on the worldwide stage.
